The development process of my portfolio includes several stages, from finalizing the design to coding the website and uploading sample work and mockups. Each step is essential in bringing your vision to life and creating a polished and professional online portfolio that effectively showcases your skills and accomplishments. The first step in the development process was designing the wireframes. Wireframes served as the blueprint for my website; in this stage, I outlined the website layout and built the structure and functionality of every little part of each page. Drawing inspiration from portfolio websites like Omar Algaithy's, ArtistsWeb's, Brittany Chiang's and Cassie Evans', I created wireframes that reflect my desired style and format while prioritizing usability and accessibility. Consider the placement of navigation menus, call-to-action buttons, and visual elements to ensure a seamless and intuitive browsing experience for visitors. Once the wireframes were finalized, the next step was coding the website. I decided to handwrite the code from scratch using HTML and CSS; I incorporated designed elements from my wireframes, such as typography, colour schemes, and illustrations, to bring my design to a functioning website. As I coded the website, I did consider how to incorporate interactive elements and dynamic visuals to enhance the user experience. This included animated banners, interactive elements, sliders and galleries that allow users to engage with my work. Once I finished coding the portfolio, the next step was adding content and uploading sample work and mockups. I selected the projects that best showcase my skills and accomplishments and organized them in a way that is visually appealing and easy to navigate. Provide detailed descriptions of each project, highlighting my personal information and qualifications. All that to demonstrate my skills and creativity.
Finally, before getting to the last stage and launching my portfolio, I tested the website to ensure that it is responsive, accurate grammar, and error-free. Solicit feedback from tutors, colleagues and professionals to identify any areas for improvement and refine the design accordingly.
